Medical Equipment Solutions ; Making of Medical Furniture

As like any other Furniture making , Medical Furniture involves  raw material , consumables for fabrications, Process and Machinery.Each Component of makings  add values and decides basic cost of Furniture.In Medical Furniture making Stainless steel of 304 Grade or CRC MS is preferred which has to be epoxy powder coated. Stainless Steel is picking up fast in making Medical Furniture as it is non-corrosive and easy to maintain. After selections of raw materials there are few basic processes like Bending, Cutting, Drilling, Welding , Grinding ,removing edges etc.These basic processes can be done with machinery or by hand /manually. Production with machinery ensures that certain standard are followed and all the sub assemblies are of same size and specifications. According is the consumables used , for example if manual process are adopted then Hand Press is used otherwise Power Press , which is electric and pneumatic driven are preferred. Welding is one of most important aspect of any fabrications.Earlier Arc or Electric Welding was used , these  days MIG and TIG welding are preferred. These different process involves different consumables , again one more example in that category can be that Arc Welding employs rods which are very cheap , however MIG welding involves Copper wires which are very Expensive. So When a finished Medical Furniture is seen a lay man can not make out what process is employed for fabrication of Medical Furniture . Now we can conclude that making of Medical Furniture is different from Domestic Furniture making as it requires deep knowledge of application of product and since Medical Furniture has to be used in a Hospital where lots of reactive chemical are there , it has to be non-reactive. Also Medical Furniture must not be cheaply fabricated as it can be source for infections and corrosion which in turn can add to woes of a patient.Durability is another desired parameter in making of Medical Furniture as it is subjected to mobility inside the Hospital and within its construction. For Example a emergency and recovery trolley is subjected to lots of inside and outside movement within Hospital premises.Medical Furniture can be made durable , ergonomic, aesthetically looks good only and only when it fabricated with machinery and certain norms and pre-fixed specification are followed.
